Hi everyone!

I saw this being circulated on the Romanian networks for a while. And I just thought it's another one of those photos of kids in need...

I am sorry I didn't bother checking on it until now. I saw it on TV and it just broke my heart!

Bibi is a little boy that is diagnosed with Diamond–Blackfan anemia (DBA). Here's what Wikipedia says: is a congenital erythroid aplasiathat usually presents in infancy.^[2] DBA patients have low red blood cell counts (anemia).

Bibi can get cured but the treatment is to be done in Israel and the cost of the whole thing needs a lot of money! They already gathered more than half of the money...

I know all of us are struggling... but if you found the patience to read this, please donate some sum to this cause.

Happy New Year!

Hello friends!

Happy New Year to everyone :). Did you have a great time for the New Year's Eve?

I spent it at home with my family and I just realize now how fast it all went by this year! Having a baby really does speed things up.
And Marc managed to make me smile for the first time in 2012! At about 23.40 on the 31st I heard him crying and when I went into his room he was STANDING in his crib. For the first time ever!!! That just melted my heart and I realized that rather than waiting for things to happen I should take it slow.
And last night I stumbled upon this lovely quote that I wish to all of you:

"Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. ~Robert Brault"

I didn't create much... well yeah I did some crochet but I didn't download the photos yet :). I made some toys for Marc. I will come back with the photos.

Now retrospecting 2011 it doesn't feel like I did much but I am happy as it is :). At least I managed to start my Etsy shop and to spend more time with my family.

And my favorite item for 2011 is Lia's Snow White box. Maybe because I have been watching "The 10th Kingdom". It's a beautiful movie! You can even find it on Youtube now. I was watching it when I was a kid and it was such a joy seeing it on TV again!

He's my absolute joy! I never thought having a baby can be this hard and this uplifting! I am looking forward to every day with him because there's no day when I don't smile because of him :). He just makes me rediscover the world... The best thing that I ever created.

Manduca baby carrier review and Etsy Mondays

Hey there blogger girls!

How did you spend your Monday today?

I woke up two times last night to feed Mr. Marc. Sometimes he just sleeps throughout the night but sometimes he keeps waking up to eat. Then he decided he should wake up at 6 AM and demanded attention.

By 9 he was all cranky and sleepy so I took my WONDERFUL Manduca (if you don't know what that is yet and have a baby... BUY IT!). He only falls asleep in it. Here's a photo with Marc and my sister in the very day we got our Manduca:

He LOVES it. During daytime it's the only way I can make him fall asleep.

I got Manduca when our old baby carrier was too small for him. And after some research on slings for BIG babies I found it out. It has no bad reviews! I kept reading and searching for someone to say something bad about it but NO!

Setting it up:

And I can second that! It's so easy to set up! I just browsed the instructions manual that came with it but I could have guessed where the straps would go anyway.

The feel on you:

The baby's weight is felt just in the legs and not in your back and shoulders like with regular carriers because of the extra back strap that most of the carriers don't have.

So the weight is very bearable! We could climb a mountain with it if we wanted.

Sometimes I let Marc sleep in it. and I am standing with him like that watching TV for like 2 hours and I barely feel tired (mostly in my legs).

The feel on baby:

Well, I can't ask him but I can tell he likes it! Otherwise he wouldn't fall asleep in it or stay in it.

Why I like it:

Other than the comfort for me!... well the fact that I like feeling him so close to me. The other carriers tend to have all kind of strings between you and baby. In Manduca there's nothing like that!

It works wonders! He was a "front to people" kind of baby in the other carrier but he doesn't mind the "front to parent" with Manduca...infact sometimes he just leans backwards to look into my eyes and smile when I make silly faces at him.

Hands free for me! While he sleeps I can even check my mails and reply. :)

Well that's it for Manduca. I give it 10 stars out of 5 :).

Today I had another Etsy sale! Woohoo!

I barely listed the card and a fellow Etsian bought it!

I went to the post office to send it out and I ended up waiting 2 hours in a queue because some guys decided to send out 9 packages!!!! I thought I will go mad there! But it's done! And hopefully I have another happy customer :).

I like it :) I am pleased with the photos too but our shop still needs more consistency and I need to redo some stuff around there.
And yes, I quilled those hearts too. I am planning on doing some Valentine's projects too.

Hey everyone!

How are you today?

I'm working on a poppy quilled card... the pattern is from Inna again :). I hope I can show it to you tomorrow. It took me several hours already :).

And I have been reading on product photography.... I wish I could just catch a good light now but it's so dark outside...wintery weather. You can read too if you're interested here.

Etsy Party!

Hey dear friends!

I'm very into Etsy lately... Aside from making me constantly think of new ideas, products and colors it gives me that unique chance of making some money too.

For those of you that don't know me {yet!}, I am a stay at home mom and my hubby is a student. We have a pretty big bank loan for hubby's MBA and virtually NO income.
I stayed with my family this whole year because they support me with everything including money for my baby's needs.... but sometimes it get's frustrating. I wanted to prove {to myself more than anyone else} that I can still do something from home too. And I did!
On one hand I have Etsy and on the other hand I have Whimsy Stamps for my sister's images {me and Lia share all the money since she is jobless too}.

Anyway, I hope I will be here more and I will try to show you my creations, work in progress, share some Etsy tips and techniques I am using when creating... and that all my friends out there will keep supporting me through all this :).

I am showing you my latest quilled creation: a spring card {got to think ahead} with cherry blossom and a matching box!

It will pretty soon be up on Etsy for sale.
I learned this pattern from Inna's blog. In case you didn't check it out... please do! She is AMAZING!

And I HAVE to finally show you this snowflake. It seems like this particular pattern is "destined" to be gifted :) Because I gifted 2 of them in India to my friends and one just yesterday to my aunt and they never got the chance to see Etsy ;). But others will follow!
It's infact a free pattern that I found here if you want to try it. You might want to adjust the sizes of the strips when you start...because the original sizes make a BIG snowflake.

Oh another useful tip about quilling symmetrical objects is to use a grid like this one here.

I will try to keep coming with tips for crafting and my newest findings... speaking of which. Did you ever try to find that important mail that had a birthday or an address and got lost in the pile of other mails? I did! It's frustrating!!! Or tried to remember the bookmark section of the site you liked so much... or even worse! Lost all your bookmarks! (I did when I installed my Windows again...)
I found a super simple solution: EVERNOTE. try it! I put it up on my iPhone too. It can let you add websites, photos. docs, voice notes, photos... everything you need! I love it!

I am very behind blogging and hopping to all of you...

I am mainly spending time with Marc. He just started standing if he is holding on to something :) Sooooo sweet! He also learned how to clap! I am very proud of him :) and looking forward to his first Christmas.

I can't log in while he is around because he starts shouting "tata" (dad) and starts "typing" ad destroying my laptop. He knows his dad is talking with him from the webcam so for him laptop = tata and twinkle twinkle little star song :))).

Tomorrow morning we're headed to Mumbai where we'll meet up with our friends and spend the whole day with them... afterwards is Mumbai- Vienna - Timisoara - Simeria WOOHOO! :)

And we both get to see Marc and take a lot of photos!

Back to quilling - sunflower card

Hi everyone!

I am back to show you what I made yesterday. I felt sick today all day and I wasn't capable of doing anything...
Then in the evening I started feeling better and I packed my craft stuff, some presents and some clothes.

I also finished all tutorials for the crafting classes I had (phew! That was A LOT of work).

Anyway I am finally free to post something and maybe I will stop by and comment on a few of your blogs :).

It's a simple quilled card (credit for the whole layout goes to Quilly Nilly - she does some pretty neat stuff with quilling!).

The paper is a "very expensive" one I got in a kit almost 2 years ago and I was too "scared" to use it... you know that feeling right? :) Silly! But true so now I decided it is time I step over my fear and CUT it :).

I made an A5 card, rounded the corners and quilled a sunflower...pretty simple ;). if you want the complete tutorial on how to make this drop me a line with your e-mail and I will send it to you.

The photo is again taken with my iPhone... so the card looks prettier IRL. I also made an envelope to go with it but I didn't take photos yet :) Bummer!

And now I will share a photo from last Friday :) We went to a cool restaurant in Hyderabad called Rubaiyat... nice food and really nice place.

Hello there!

I know I have been missing form everywhere lately. I had some crafting classes going on the past few weeks and they took up all my time!
Now I am going back to Romania on the 2nd of October so I have stuff to buy, stuff to pack, friends to meet and say goodbye to... A LOT going on in my life right now!

My first tag - recycled

Hey guys!

I can finally show you my latest creation since the challenge at Scrapper in Romania is up.
I haven't had too much time lately. On one hand I am trying to catch up with my hubby and on the other I want to promote Lia.. so all my time goes into that.
Thanks for still visiting my poor blog :P and leaving lovely comments.

So I made a tag for the first time ever! {can you believe that?}. I got the kick from our newest DT on LiaStampz, E.T.! She has some gorgeous cards so you should definitely not miss her blog!

And now all the elements I recycled {everything except the butterfly ;)}:
- I traced a tag shape on a brown cardstock piece
- I had a piece of printed old writing since last year in my folder in India so I added that as a background.
- Honey tag is infact a tag from a top I bought about 3 weeks back.. I just liked it so I kept it.
- The ribbon is a small piece that was laying around .
- The embossed piece of paper was an experiment I did last year to test my (back then) new Sizzix nad the "backing" brown paper are just strips of paper infact :P {I think it counts as Recycled}
- The flower is made more than 1 year ago... I was just experimenting with pieces of paper and I never used those flowers until now.
- the leaf is a piece I took from a notebook's cover {they have gorgeous notebooks in India :D}.

That's about all :). I am pretty low because October is coming so fast... and I have to leave my hubby yet again... but on the other hand I miss Marc a lot... tough life!

I hope we'll manage to go for some shopping this week. We got the credit card point vouchers for some big shops and I am planning to buy a lot of things for Marc.

Catching up :)

Hello there :)

I know it's been some time... I am just struggling to catch up with the blogosphere! :) And to my dearest blog friends: you should hear from me very soon!
So, I reached India.... I installed myself, I cleaned my hubby's "den", I cook every day :) {his ultimate pleasure}, and I DON'T have a laptop {sob sob}... but I monopolized his {whenever he doesn't need it}.

Anyway, I wanna show you real quick some of the "presents" I made:
1. seed envelopes for the flower seeds I gifted to my friend Anca :)... that template took me DAYS to complete and print because my computer kept crashing. The papers are from Pink Paislee - Garden something :).
I researched on the flowers (the seeds came from my grandma's garden and she had no idea how they were called and all)... and through perseverance I managed to find all the info.
Here are some the flowers I gifted her:

2. The "Thank you card" for Diana's son Mihaita :) {he's 1 year old}. Lia drew the image and it will soon be up on her blog :).
It's an easel card and I don't know the name of the papers... The sentiment is generated on computer and the bone and paws come from a mini stamp called Dino from HOTP.
3. Marc album (yet again!). I decided that the best present for my hubby will be a 8x8 album packed with photos of Marc... I spent the last days in Romania creating this album. It was a LOT of work and I had to do it all but it turned out really nice :)

Well that's about all. I will be back next days with more creations.

Hi there!

I am sooooo sorry I didn't have time to post anything :(. I have been traveling and planning a lot. I am returning to India next week so I have a lot of things to arrange before I go.

I won't be taking Marc though. We have a more complicated situation right now so it's best for him to just stay here.

I made a card and a mini album for my MIL for her birthday. I already sent them to her. They should reach soon.

I tried my hands at coloring on kraft cardstock and I LOVE IT.

The stamp is a mini from HOTP. It's sooo cute! I colored it with watercolor pencils ... but I didn't add any water so they look like pencils {what a complicated explanation for such a simple thing! doh!}

I used lots of papers...I won't start a list here... some twine (LOVE TWINE) and a star shaped brad.... and lots of photos I printed myself :) {yup, proud of that!}... some letter diecuts...

OK, I'm off to the next project {you'll see that soon enough}

Easel card - Lia Stampz digi & tutorial

Hello blog friends,

I know it's been more than a week. I can find 1000 excuses for not posting but the truth is I just didn't find the inspiration to sit down and write.
My card was made, my tutorial as well... So I am asking for forgiveness

I made this card right after I got my goodies from Fraticstamper.com . Did I say I just LOVE their shop? Cheapest shipping charges + variety!
Anywaaaaay they sent me a free gift as well (they do that when they have space left in the package without adding to the shipping weight). I got some fabric tab stickers. Do you know about them? If you don't it's time to get you some! They are super cool and I used one of them on this card.
The image is from LiaStampz - of course. Its name is Clover and you can buy here from here. It also has FREE sentiments for grabs and custom free sentiments if you buy the image. How cool is that!

It's colored with Copics but I forgot where I put the color list

It's another easel card and this time I paid attention to the inside as well. I did a faux stitching using my mousepad, a ruler and a pair of compasses. If you want me to make a short tutorial on that let me know :)

The flower is made by 2 Petaloo flowers (also in my latest order) which I colored with Copics. They are soooo versatile! LOVE THEM!

Oh, I almost forgot! My tutorial!!! Midnight left a comment on my easel card so I decided to show her real quick how to fold an easel card (I'm so sorry for the bad photos. I clicked them in night... bad bad idea!).

1. BASE: cut a piece of paper of 11 inches by 5 3/4 inches and fold it at 2 3/4 inches and then at 5 1/2 inches. I hope I got the measurements right. I am not good at working with inches. We have cms here.

2. FRONT: cut a piece of the same cardstock as the base at 5 1/2 and 5 3/4 inches

3. Fold the base as shown and after you decorated your frond stick it to the folded half and you're done!

Marc is dong great! He loves being the center of attention and has started laughing "with sound". We're 3 months old now! I can;t believe how fast the time is flying!

He was on top of the table in our yard. He loves seeing everything around him. Oh and that's his favorite toy!

Oh I am planning to get a new hairstyle... I definitely need one! I need some suggestions though. I've been having long hair since... forever. And I want to clip it short this time. I was thinking neck-length.... Maybe I should dye it too. I just feel I desperately need a look change. It might be a part of the new mommy thingy. Hahaha.

Vintage box with flowers

Hello crafters!

So sorry I get back to you so late :). I had to help Lia with her thesis... by the way! Check her DT call...just 16 days left!

So, today I'm showing you a box I made as prize for my Scrapper in Romania challenge blog {it's filled with vintage paper flowers}.

I started out by making the flowers. You can see here how to make the big ones from my tutorial "fleurs en papier".

I wanted to make a matching box for them...but I didn't have any printer to print a text file on kraft... sooo I decided to stamp some background to match the flowers.
Then I added some interest by stamping some border with the PinkPaislee Butterfly Garden stamps which I heat embossed with golden embossing powder. The butterfly comes from same collection. it's stamped on kraft, embossed and cut out.

And I made a little tutorial for you on how to get that background paper with Staz on opaque white and distress ink:

Hope you like it! I'll be back tomorrow {hopefully} with a short tutorial on easel cards :) since I had the request to do it and I hope I'll be able to show you soon how to make combined embossing and how to add glitter to elements by using a glue stick :) {also on request}.

Don't hesitate to ask me anything about this project... and I will do my best to come with a follow-up tutorial to explain the creative processes with you.

Marc on my belly :) we have fun like that sometimes

Marc news:

We started the carrot juice+chamomile tea! It's the 4th day now and he drank 4 baby spoons of carrot juice.

He loves it! I didn't add any sugar because I don't want him to get used to sweet stuff.... and the carrots I am using are from our own garden...so hopefully as natural as they can be :).

I know all major health organizations recommend diversification from 6 months onward... but here we do things differently. Besides he started "functioning" better after the carrot juice {if you know what I mean ;)}.

Wedding easel card - double embossed

Hello crafters!

This is a wedding card I made for some friends that wanted something special to gift to a wedding they didn't attend. {PHEW! That was a long sentence!}
Seeeeeeeeew.... since I always wanted to make an easel card... but I never really got the guts to do it.... I decided to make one now!

I wanted to add fancy papers to it then I thought it looks best simple and with delicate details.

I embossed the bride and groom with the Cuttlebug die... then I wasn't happy with it. So I decided to heat emboss it too . I dabbed embossing ink all over then I sprinkled clear embossing powder and with a brush I took the excess off. I heat embossed it...but something was missing...I wanted even more sparkle! So I took my glue stick and ran it all over the poor bride :))) then sprinkled her with a lot of glitter!

I went on and embossed some swirls...attached my handmade flower and stuck a text to congratulate the bride and groom in Romanian. I also added their wedding day date :) you can see that.

If I get any requests I might make a video on how to double emboss.... I know there's another "double embossing" technique but it refers to dry embossing only. Maybe I should call this combined embossing? :)))

I am too busy and tired to submit this to any challenges... I don't have time to check the winners and all

I'll come back tomorrow...and I hope I'll have a tutorial for you :D

Paris retro card & stuff

Hi everyone!

I'm finally able to show you the card I made for my challenge blog Scarpper in Romania... The theme was retro '40s or '80s. And I got inspired by Audrey Hepburn's words "Paris is always a good idea".

I got the backing papers printed... and I colored the dot one with Copic-baby pink then I distressed it with Tim Holtz... like everything else.

The Eiffel Tower stamp is a mini from HOTP. LOVE their minis :). After I stamped it I distressed it and sprinkled some water on it... looks better this way nah?

The ribbon is a piece I got from Annika.

Of course you might have guessed I cut the sentiment with Nesties, distressed and UTEE-ed it... I applied 3-4 coats of utee and then I crackled it :)

This weekend we went to a friend's vacation house :). It was nearby in some woods and they had a pool and fishing pond also! Perfect occasion to take Marc out for his first trip! He was incredibly good! Almost didn't cry at all and he had a lot of fun :)

Altered shoe box & Yummy recipe

Hello there!

I'm back with an altered shoe box... it took me 5 days to make! It's not complicated or anything but I couldn't work on it non stop.

If I get any requests I will make a tutorial on how to do it. I basically used a lot of white acrylic pain, PVA glue and loo roll (yeah yeah... sounds gross but it works!). The embellies are all hand made except for the "leaves and vines" which are cut with sizzlits.
I used some distress ink to give some depth to it... but surprize! surprize! Distress ink doesn't "stick" to acrylic paint... {boy! Am I dumb or what!}. But I used a napkin to wipe it off and it left some pinkish-brown behind.

Could have been better...but I like it for the first attempt.

Oh, I have to mention I'll use it to keep my wedding invitation samples. I'm finally giving them to a wedding agency and I couldn't just use a shoe box! What kind of a crafter would I be then? :)

Don't feel like putting it up for any challenge... too tired :P

So, today was Children's Day...And I LOVED being home again. Reminded me of when I was a kid. Nice times! When our mom was preparing us a yummy desert we call "ou fre" :)) {even may Romanians won;t know what that is!}...but I'll explain to you in a sec.

Here's the recipe:

1. Fresh strawberries...or anything that ends in "-erry" :). If you plan to do this for your kid, use ONLY organic fruits!

Homegrown strawberries...sooooo YUM!

2. You'll need:
*FRESH organic egg (yeah, I have hens also :)...just picked one freshly laid one!)
*mixer
*sugar
*fork+plate
*teacup
*bowl
*glass bowl

I don't usually "eat" sugar at all... with a few exceptions like this one!

3. With the fork, smash those strawberries! {no mercy please!}

LOL! Looks like WW3! :)) Bloody pieces of strawberry!

4. Separate the egg...{hope you know how to do that :)}Add the yolk in the teacup (don't throw it!) and the egg-white in the mixing bowl

5. Start whisking the egg white till it turns fluffy and you don't see any "big" bubbles forming

6. When it looks like this, add sugar: (I added 2 tablespoons)

7. Squeeze the juice out of the strawberries....but not too much {use whatever method you like}... I'll spare you the details on how I squeezed mine! :))) {I do love to play with food...I live in India half of the time!}
Then use the mixer to mix it all nicely together....

Should look something like this

8. Add 1 spoon and a half of sugar over the yolk and whisk it well (I am using only one of the whiskers from my mixer for this :)...yeah, it's safe)... keep whisking until it changes to very light yellow {I didn't have patience for mine...was in a too big rush}

Oops...I made some mess in the project :)

Should look something like this...you can make it even better by whisking longer

9. Arrange your "ou fre" and put it in the fridge to cool down...

Ooops...I forgot the final strawberry on top!

Always put the egg yolk at the bottom...it's heavier than the whisked whites :)

If you only knew how delicious this was!!!!

Lia Stampz Kandi card

Hello my dear friends!

Yeah, lots of pics! I know :) I just didn't know which ones to pick!

Before we get started, please remember there's a DT call (AND MORE) going on at my sister's blog! If you're a digi lover you should head over there!

This is a card I made using one of her pre-releases {just check them out! They're THE BEST digis ever!}. Her name is Kandi and it's one of Lia's favorites also.

I colored her with Copics {bien sûr}:). I've been watching some tutorials on how to color. This woman is amazing!!! (Suzanne)
I still have flaws in coloring... wish I knew better how to place the shading :).

Here's a list of the Copics I used:

*candy: BV31, V15

The papers I used are all scraps. The blue one is from The Angel Company and the greyish one is from Annika :). The ribbon is from lovely Linda and the flower is handmade by me (see the tutorial here).
You can also spot a Nesties over there :)...it's a "leftover"...it's just an experiment I made when I first got my Nesties and I never used it until now.

Marc news!
He's been such a good baby lately! He doesn't cry that much anymore... guess he's growing out of it :). But he's still demanding! He doesn't sleep much during daytime and I am constantly with him. That's why I manage to make a card in 4-5 days! And publish it in a week :)
He's cooing a lot, loves to "chat" with his daddy on webcam :) and he smiles at him also!

I see him more and more gorgeous every single day! {guess all moms feel the same about their babies :)}

Ele card - LiaStampz

Hello bloggers!

I'm back with another card I made using a Lia Stampz image (sooooooooo cute! isn't it?). Its name is Ele and you can buy it from Lia's blog.
Oh and don't forget she's having a DT call! You have the chance to play with her digis for FREE! :)

I colored the image with Copics:
- leaf: G000, YG23, G14, G07
- elephant: BV23, B60, BV31, V000, Y21, BV29, R17, E50, 0

I started getting used with how to use them... I didn't watch any tutorials but I am learning by "mistake" :). I found out that if you let the color dry and you come over with the same color you can get some refined shading. If you add the colors while the paper is still "wet" they'll just blend! :) {I'm sure many of you know this already but I just thought I should share my "discovery"}.
My coloring is far from perfect... but I am trying :)

The flower is made by using 2 Primas and some black beads I had around here. The background paper is from Annika and the ribbon is an old one I had long before I started crafting.

Flower fairy card and Hawaiian beach invitation

Hi crafters!

I'm so sorry I "took a break" :) from blogging. I had Marc issues again :). Since he's sleeping in my arms all day I can't do much.

I managed to get some time off yesterday (for short periods of time) and I did this card.

The cute cute image is a digi stamp from Lia Stampz {for those of you who don't know Lia is my little sister; she's a graphic artist and I ADORE her work!}. This image is called "flower fairy lola". You can buy it from her blog here. Or you can request it from me for 2.50$ {a special discount :D}.

Oh, don't forget! My sister is having a DT call on her blog. You have the chance to play with her newest digis! Don't miss it :)

I colored it with Copics {Oh, how I missed them!}...emm I forgot to make a list of the colors I used.
It turned out ok I might say... I am not that good at using Copics yet. And I don't have Copic special paper {sob!sob!} so it bled a bit :( {but pretend you didn't see that :))}.
I added some glitter on the little fairy's dress and I tried my hand at faux stitching... but I had to do it in a rush because Marc was crying and it didn't turn out quite well :).

The DPs are a gift from Annika and the kraft cardstock is a gift from Dorcas (thanks!).
I cut the small tag with Cuttlebug's "Baby Face" alpha dies.
The text stamp is from an Inkadinkado stamp set (don't know which one :P).

For Marc's section: :) We'll be turning 2 months tomorrow! {OMG! Time flies by so quickly!}. And I have to take him for his vaccinations :(. I'm sooo scared! I think I won't be able to stay in there and watch. I'll probably let my mom go in with him and I'll wait outside. Hate it when he cries!
And since he's growing up so fast, I kept saying I'll take a stamp of his little hands and feet but I didn't do it until last night. Did you ever try doing that??? They just won't unclench their hands! :) And I managed to take a better stamp from his little foot but he was keeping one toe up so the stamp looks a bit weird with 2nd toe being just a little splash of color :))). I'll take some pics of that and show you :)

Quilled flower card and "indonesia sayang"

Hi everyone!

I'm back with a "recycled" card. The base had stuck the napkin and ribbon ... it was one of the bases I used for the reindeer cards.
So I decided to make it a spring card.
I heat embossed some butterflies on the background (can you see them?). Then I quilled a simple flower, added a gemstone in the middle and pencil drew a stem and leaf... pretty simple! Nothing fancy or "branded" on this card :).

I'm having troubles with Marc these days. He only wants to sleep on my belly during daytime! He's cranky all day but he does sleep peacefully at night. Anyway, I don't have any new pics... so I'll put up one of my favorites:

I think he was 2 days old here :)... my 2 fav guys in the whole world! Marc changed so much since then! They're growing up fast!

Anyway... I didn't forget I promised I'll show you what I did with what was on my desk on Sunday {but I'll show you tomorrow I promise... too tired to download the photos from the camera now}.

Scalloped card & Royal invitation

This is a card I made for my gynec doc to thank her for getting Marc out safe.
The card base is from Linda (thanks :)). The flower is handmade by me and the leafy diecuts are Sizzlits which I UTEE-ed :)... {did I mention I love Utee yet? :)}.
The leaf in the detail is a real skeleton leaf ... you'll see more of those on my wedding invitations soon :).

And now a little bit of news... {THIS IS A LONG POST! Don't say I didn't warn you :)}

I had a rough day today with Marc crying all the time. Luckily my mom sat with him most of the time. He broke our backs! :)

Last night I had the "brilliant" idea to start planning the scrapbook album for him... so I sat up till late and I started arranging stuff and pages {I am finding it so hard to put together!}.

Anyway what I did was to arrange stickers and chipboard on pages and then I took photos of each so I can see them at a later time and decide if I still like it... only then I'll go on and stick things in there :))).

So it looks something like this:

I know pics aren't clear... I wasn't plannig to "share" them... :) so I didn't take any pain playing with the settings.

I didn't manage to select any photographs for the scrapalbum yet... I have 4 DVDs waiting for me but it's so hard to select just a few...

Green card and blue invitation

Hello my dear friends!

I seem to get back to blogging :) and creating... though this is another card I made in March.

I have some explaining to do here. My poor hubby carried the Sizzix from India with him to Romania when he came... and the luggage had extra weight so he had to virtually re-buy the Sizzix for me. {well... he brought more than the Sizzix but the Copics were ESSENTIAL anyway ;)}.
So, as soon as I got it I started cutting shapes with my new Tim Holtz dies...

I used Tim Holtz Ornamental Alterations die and embossed it with Tim Holtz Damask folder. The swirls are sizzlits dies and the dragonfly stamp is a Kaiserkraft Flora&Fauna stamp.

This is basically a "recycled" card... I started making it long back {for Christmas} and I didn't like the outcome so I spoiled the whole front part by unsticking the embellies I put on. Only the green napkin remained stuck there :). This was my chance to repair my mistakes {lol}.

The rose is watercolored in 1000 shades... {I don't remember when I painted that paper}... then it's all UTEE embossed {LOOOOOVE UTEE :)}.

Back on track & Wedding Invitations

Hi bloggers!

I'm back with another card I made some time back... which ended up with my friend Cary for Easter (she loves cats!).
This is the very first time I am trying "decoupage" ... and it's all thanks to my dear friend Linda (from Lindy's Maid Wid Luv)... she's having a CANDY for 200 followers {yay!}so hop over by her blog for a chance! She also sent me the lovely card base...she's an expert of "folds". Thanks so much for the goodies, Linda!

The quilled flowers are my work of art... I am getting kind of "rusty" in quilling :).
I heat embossed some flowery stamps with clear embossing powder...I just felt the whole card needed some shimmer :).

I guess that's all....

His new-found soothing position... I was in despair few days back to calm him down and I tried this... IT WORKS! And so does the hairdrier... {you know what I mean if you're parents :)}. I think they should "patent" the hairdrier as the ultimate baby soother. It never fails! {and it's cheap also LOL!}.
Bought him the Tomy Star... he's not used to it yet... but it doesn't send him to sleep, he likes "talking" to it.

So I'm back with this:

Anyway, I am taking a "break" from cardmaking and serious blogging on crafts... like many of you noticed already.

For now we're just eating, crying, sleeping... he started cooing a bit and recognizing things. He seems very interested in his bird mobile and in night he loves seeing the shadows moving so I am putting on a "show" with my bare hands :).
I am planning to buy him one of those baby projectors... I was considering either the Tomy Starlight Dreamshow or the Vtech Sweet Dreams... If any of you have any experience with either of these or another one don't hesitate to "advise" me :).

Hi everyone!

I am sorry I am posting so rarely now. Aside the back aches, swollen feet and hands and a very big belly I am also feeling dead tired and sleepy most of the time. So I don't even feel like turning on the computer let alone edit posts and take pictures.

However, I gathered the last drops of energy to write this post (it might as well be the last one before delivery) to let you know how I'm doing.

My hubby is finally here with me... he arrived safely on the 13th of Feb. After that we had to solve some papers for him so it was a lot of running around from one official office to another.

Now we're waiting for the "alarm" every minute...and I am always going to sleep thinking I might get up in the middle of the night to rush to the hospital. Hell, I even have nightmares about the whole thing... it's already affecting my nerves... or it might just be the hormones???

Well, on one hand I hardly wait to get over it all but on the other I am more freaked out than I ever was on my entire life! I started dreaming of crying babies already {LOL}.

On the bright side, I managed to make some cards {yup, I have more :)}. Since my desk is in a huge mess... and I am leaving it like that, I just had some "urge" to use up the scraps I had lying around... but maybe more than that I LOVE MY COPICS :)))... {sounds like deja-vu}. I absolutely had to color something with them. And what better image than the one I won as a prize at Steel Magnolias... a Tilda. I have never had the chance to play with one of these before but I absolutely adore them now! I might even get a couple for myself. I don't know the name of the stamp... {sorry}

The pretty papers are all from Annika {boy, she sent me a lot of stuff to play with} and so is the Prima flower {can you imagine a Magnolia without a Prima flower???} and the butterfly {again I have no idea about the company}.

I hope that I can come back with some more cards I made. Unfortunately I won't subscribe it to any contests for the simple reason that I won't be able to check if I won something :).

Scrapbook mini album - Lia in India

Hey everyone!

I promised you I'll show you my very first mini scrapbook album (I've never even tried a simple layout before). So here it is: a mini album for my sister Lia filled with photos from last summer when she came to visit us in India... such wonderful moments!

I wanted to incorporate a lot of pictures in a limited space so I thought it's best to make collages in Picasa :) and so I did.

The album and the stamps are from a candy I won some time back at Steel Magnolias and it came just now from Canada from Roberta. The whole set is a coordinating one {never had coordinating sets before!!!} from Close to my Heart.

I added my own embellies as well and used a ton of brads I got from the lovely Annika.

I like the outcome and so did Lia :)... The flower from the cover is handmade by me... I love these flowers. You can see them in my Etsy store.

I'd like to submit this to Woodware USA challenge: anything but a card.

I hope you're all ok... so sorry I am not visiting so often :)... just entering my 9th month of pregnancy. These days I'm more into crocheting toys for the baby and lazying on the couch... I'll come back here the following days with more projects :).

Baby mobile - custom birds with roses

Hi everyone!

Looks like my baby mobiles are a hit :) I keep getting requests to make them. This one was made for Julie... I had to invent the bird pattern (I showed you a sneak peek earlier on this week).

I really really like how this turned out! Really cheerful and perfect for a little baby...

On the other hand, I got my kraft papers from Dorcas (thanks so much!)... and I'll start creating something real soon (without yarn this time... just paper :)).

I did make something paper-related but I can't tell you just yet what it is... you'll have to come back here {OMG, I have become so mean!....evil marketing strategy.... muahahah}.

I'm feeling better these days... but I caught a cold :(. It's really cold here...we still have snow and I have troubles sleeping now. Anyway I am glad that I didn't have any more painful contractions since I adopted my 15 minutes computer/chair time. The couch is more suited for me these days. :).

Oh and eagerly waiting for the 13th of Feb... when my DH will come here... didn't see him since September. I hardly wait to spend some time with him {before baby comes...;)}

A designed bird for my new baby mobile

Hi everyone!

I am working on a new baby mobile that has these types of birds... I didn't find a pattern anywhere for them so I decided to invent my own.

I know I am not very active on my blog hopping and card making and that's because I can't sit for long periods of times like I used to. I am beginning to feel all kinds of pressure on my back. So I rather lie back on the couch between 3 pillows and play with yarn :).

I am still working on many projects including a mini scrapbook album (few minutes every day)... but I can' share any more details with you right now :).

I am also working on some baby clothes (with a little help from grandma :D) and a different type of mobile... that you'll get to see soon enough (I hope).

Oh, and a small Valentine present for my hubby (he won't come here very often so I can share that one :D).

Hope all of you are ok...if you read my posts, just stop by and tell me about your latest projects and how you're doing. I'll do my best to visit.

This is the second Etsy order I got for a baby mobile. This one was made for Ryan and it's a variation of my previous one: blue birds.

On the other hand I want to apologize to all my blog friends... I didn't feel well lately and I won't be able to visit you as often as I would like to. I have limited time in front of my computer now. I guess the 8th month is making a big entrance (just had my first Braxton Hicks today)... got really freaked out so I decided to take it slowly and rest more.

Hello crafters!

I have been really busy lately with my Etsy shop orders. I just finished this cute baby mobile with owls for Phaedra. She'll use it in her baby nursery for her on-the-way baby boy. She picked the colors of the whole mobile to match the baby's room. Isn't it too cute??? I am totally in love with the result!

I am now working on another custom baby mobile for Ryan... I'll be up with photos soon enough :).

Dream of "Paris" card

Welcome back to another crafty day with "moi" :).

I had a period in my life when I was completely fascinated by France and Paris and french and French ;;). And I guess a small piece of that obsession still lies in there somewhere. I always admired all the cards I saw that contained a piece of "France" in them. So I decided it was time to get my own "Eiffel tower" stamp. So, "voila" my newest card: simple but sophisticated in a "frenchy" style.

I want to thank two of my dear friends: Meda (for the embossed paper) and Annika (for PP, Flower and gorgeous ribbon).

I did use my Circle Scissor Plus from EK Success again to cut the circle. If you're interested in buying it from me just drop a comment with your e-mail addy. It's barely used and I will send it with new blades.

I stamped the image and sentiment (I really do "dream" of visiting France once again sometime). And I did a rather non-conventional thing with the distressing technique. I just rubbed a corner of my Staz On pad on the edge of the circle... I think it goes with the whole "dreamy" look of the card. What do you think?

Hello everyone!

I am back with a card I made inspired by Card Patterns sketch:

I never seem to get the cutting right...and I hate measuring :)...so you can see my squares aren't actually fitting perfectly on the card. Anyway I had fun making this card! And I am glad I actually started using up some of the pretty Prima Flowers that Annika sent me (the DP and sentiment stamp is from her as well).

I got to use the Circle Scissor Plus here... I think I will sell it off once my replacement blades arrive. So if you're planning to buy one, you can buy it from me. It's barely used. I just got it for Christmas. It was 18.59$ on Joann and I will sell it for 15$(+transportation) along with NEW cutting blades.

Clean and simple - flower card

Hello crafters!

I managed to make a simple card for my Romanian challenge blog DT Scrapper in Romania. The theme was "clean and simple" with winter theme... so I picked cold colors.

The sentiment is stamped (yup! I got myself some brand new letter stamps :D) and the flower is made by me from some fluffy yarn I had lying around for ages :)... the center is another flower made by me from paper this time (looks like a small carnation doesn't it?).

Supplies:

- Aihao black gel pen

I did take a picture of my desk yesterday... just for fun :) (looks a lot messier now) :

I decided to restore some of my old cards... and I was crocheting a cute owl at the same time :))... and yup, that's the Martha Stewart scoring board you see in there (totally IN LOVE with it...can't say the same about my Circle Scissors Plus from EK (Suck)cess... I feel sorry now I didn't pick something else).

New Year's Resolutions

Wow! I can't believe a whole year has passed! And so many things with it.
I don't usually have any planned resolutions... I guess I was just making them up as I went along. This year though will be a tough one.

But first a quick remembrance of what I did in 2010.
Last New Year's Eve I was in India, of course, and our neighbors invited us to a small party. I did wish back then that I am home with my hubby... Looks like just half of my wish came true this year.

The beginning of 2010 is a bit blurry {not from the drinks I had}. I do remember I started my challenge blog for Romanians and then by March my friend had her first baby... a cute boy named Mihaita.

Here's my hubby holding the new born baby of my friend :) {guess some things are just meant to happen and we don't see the signs right away}

Then came a stressful period where I was on the edge of depression because I didn't have any job... But God always knows what's best and some company called to set up an interview. All went well and I managed to get my very first translator job!

Backing up Prashu in his MBA quests I offered to go with him to Singapore to visit INSEAD campus there and we decided it was a good opportunity to make this trip a 4 days holiday for ourselves. GORGEOUS country with wonderful people! I fell in love with that place the instant I landed there! {not to mention the craft stores they have!!!....and of course I bought my Copics from there- I just had to mention that!}

We also bought my little sister plane tickets to come stay with us in India for 2 months and a half {SO MUCH FUN!!!}. I just couldn't believe she was actually there with me. We did a ton of silly stuff and had great fun!

Just in that period I found out {SURPRISE!} that I am pregnant! Nothing at all was planned so we really had a rough time deciding if we should keep the baby or not... {it was a bad timing... but timing is always bad when a baby comes into your life :P...practically speaking}.

Seeing the state I was in, Prashu sent me home {in Romania} with my sister because he was worried to leave me alone at home.

So here I am today... waiting for my hubby to come in February and for my baby boy to be born in March... and thinking of how many new things await me in 2011!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS {in no particular order}

1. Enjoy the time I have left as a pregnant woman {it really is a wonderful experience :)}
2. Bake yummy cupcakes for my hubby when he comes here {I promised him already}
3. Buy baby stuff.{yeah, should have had all planned but I wanna buy them with Prashu}...Oh, and finish baby blankie!
4. Don't panic about delivery {that will be hard to do}
5. Don't freak out when baby starts crying.
6. Be a good mommy :)
7. Start and finish my very first Scrapalbum for baby {HELP! :) I have no idea where to start that}
8. Be courageous and don't cry when Prashu goes back to India.
9. Have guts to get on a plane with baby, ALONE!{maybe it won't be that bad... yeah right!}
10. Be supportive and understand the stressful period my hubby will be going through in his new school.
11. Find other mommies to get out with and talk to.
12. Visit my friends as often as I can.
13. Be less grouchy in morning {heheh... that's an Impossible Mission}
14. Cook more and experiment more with cooking.
15. Focus on my new business :)

Hello fellow crafters :)

This is another card I made last weekend.

The gorgeous background paper is from Annika (of course) and it's part of the Infuse Collection from Basic Grey (I love their papers!) {as you noticed I researched on the paper's name this time :D.}

The ribbon is again from Annika (she really saved my "creative soul") and the cute embellishment "button" from the snowflake is from her as well and it's part of PaperMania Metal Accessories kit (such gorgeous stuff!).

The diecut snowflake is from my dear friend Meda (another angel that helped me build a small stash of crafty stuff when I was in despair).
And a matching envelope with stamped snowflakes from Inkadinkado that I got from Annika :)

And finally, the center piece... a BEAUTIFUL digi stamp from my sister Lia (Lia Stampz) called "making a snowman" that is colored by her as well (wish I was so good with felt pens as she is...).

Christmas card - snowflake elegant

Hi there!

I am back with a card I made last weekend (yup...still running late with posting them all). It's pretty simple and I don't know why but it's one of my favourites. :)

I printed these gorgeous vintage baubles from Trixie Beth's blog on vellum paper.

Then I used a piece of embossed paper I got from my friend Meda (thanks so much for sending me those goodies!)...since my Sizzix is gathering dust on my desk in India :( (I miss it sooo much!).

The snowflake is a diecut I also got from Meda... gorgeous one!

Then I just added a small bow I made from some shiny string I bought from a local store.

I made a matching envelope and I stamped it with Inkadinkado snowflakes stamp I got from Annika :) (I LOVE those stamps!!!)

Glitter snowflakes Christmas card

Hello crafters!

My internet is back!!! YEEEEEY! I can't believe it! I have sooo many unposted cards! And some tutorials awaiting to be completed...

This is just a simple card I made using glitter glue. I drew the snowflakes on the background with light pencil and then I traced them all with glitter glue. The circle is hand cut and the scallop is "handmade" (a secret I found out on Youtube... if you would like a tutorial on how to make ANY size of scallops that look like this just leave me a comment).

The glitter on the circle is from glittery hairspray (yup, smells good also).

The felt Christmas tree is bought from a local store and "embellished"...

This card is all about GLITTER!!! :)

Hey there!

I am back (from my sister's laptop) to post one card I made some 2 weeks back :)...hope my internet will work for Christmas :(

It's a pretty simple one... used a napkin for the PP, some ribbon, pearls and these adorable pre-cut felt reindeers I found at a local store.

I have some sort of deja-vu...last year, when I started blogging, I was making a bunch of reindeer cards for my friends. I have such sweet memories from that time... when I just started crafting and I was so excited about it... even though I didn't have any stamps... Yup... still NO INTERNET! Looks like I won't have an internet connection this Christmas {sob sob}

Hello!

I am too lazy to post something today.. I didn't make any card I just felt I needed a break :).

But I decided to "show-off" my very first cupcakes I made Saturday for my little sister... as you can see she LOVED them because she took a picture and transformed it into something graphic (she's so good at it!).

The recipe is a yummy one that makes PERFECT cupcakes! I took it from here.

I will be making these yummiez again soon :) and try to make them look even better (the top cream didn't turn out quite right...I think it was the butter I used... I will keep experimenting!)

I am back today with a quick post (my internet is still down). I made this card for 365Cards.

The theme this time was to use a stamped image. And Annika saved me again :). I told you she sent me a lot of gorgeous stamps! So I used one of them, the Christmas tree cone... sooo cute!!!

The background paper is from Annika also :) (thanks so much girl! you rock!).

Hello!

I am writing this post "in a hurry" my internet is down for 2 days and it looks like there aren't any chances of it being repaired this week... So I came to "beg" for some internet time from my aunt :).

I made this card especially for 365 Cards. They are having a vintage hop and vintage week down at their blog. So exciting!!!

This is the card I made for the Sunday Sketch:

I used a printed handwritten background image which I stamped with poinsettia stamps I got from sweet Annika. The sentiment is hand-written and the image around it is stamped with another stamp I got from Annika (yup, she sent me a lot of COOL stamps)... The snowflake is another thing she sent me but I used it as a stencil and made my own... didn't want to use that gorgeous snowflake if I was about to cover it like that :)... The lace is taken from an old dress and the "bling" is a recycled and repaired piece from my aunt's earrings... I just liked that shape too much to throw it away so I "painted" it with nailpolish... hehe what do you say???

Felt tree Christmas card

Hello, hello!

Been lazy... I know. Now I am left behind with posting my cards :)

This is one of the Christmas cards I made on Saturday. Using just napkins as patterned paper (see my tutorial here if you want to try it).

Hand cut circle and "handmade" scallops. Of course I added some hairspray glitter and my mom played a bit with the felt Christmas tree and decorated it :).

And I didn't forget about the promised tutorials :) I will do my best to publish those as well.

And a HUGE THANK YOU to Annika :) who sent me a HUGE package full of goodies... I can play now! Yay!!! (you'll be seeing a lot of Annika's stuff around here so be ready!)

Vintage Christmas card

Hello blog-world!

As I promised, here's the third of my Christmas cards... a vintage one :) (or as close I could get to a vintage one).

Wrapping paper, some lace, handmade lollipop flower, some dried "grassy" stuff from my bridesmaids' bouquets (yeah, I still kept those they look so gorgeous even dried!)... and a tree hand drawn by my mom :D... I also added some hairspray glitter to it...can you see it? (sorry about the pics they were taken in really early and gloomy morning...)

Poinsettia Christmas card

Hello everyone!

This is another one of my 3 Christmas cards. It's made using my handmade poinsettia flower made from my 3D flower punch (you can find the tutorial here).

I used a piece of Cosmo Cricket DP from Meda again :).

Some red buttons tied with a golden string...and some glitter haispray for the flower mat.

And of course I have 4 more cards waiting to be posted...but I decided to keep them coming one per day :).

Pop-up Christmas presents

Hello!

Just a quick post... I made 3 Christmas cards yesterday and this was one of them: a pop-up card inspired by rozzieoz from Youtube.
The DP is from my friend Meda (Cosmo Cricket)...and the rest is just "brandless" stuff from local stores.

Oh, yeah and I completed 2 very special blog makeover orders today as well.. I will come with a sneak peek as soon as the girls set them up. I am very pleased with the result and it seems so are they.
